UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE MOORPARK MAIN POST OFFICE

Project Description

JSA Architecture in conjunction with KC Lee Construction, formed a joint venture to design and build a new post office in Moorpark, California.  This 5,500 S.F., $2.2 million main post office incorporates many new construction standards to make an energy efficient facility.  JSA worked closely with the USPS and the city of Moorpark in a collaborative effort to meet the needs of improved service for the community.  Alternate exterior designs were proposed for client and City review.  JSA participated in public outreach meetings to gain community input and consensus.  The final, approved design includes elements that are compatible with the overall architecture style at the City of Moorpark, as well as architecture identity for United States post offices.  Landscape and site planning is incorporated into the design to work with city’s new planning development.
